One Person, a Row of Parked SUVs and a Call to Police
At night, cameras at a client’s car dealership picked up a person walking along the sidewalk outside, then heading into the lot toward the rows of parked vehicles. The person stops at a white SUV and crouches beside its front wheel. Monitex Security describes this as vehicle tampering caught on camera in real time, and on-screen notes in the clip say other vehicles were reported tampered with as well.
The monitoring team contacted police while the person was on the property, according to Monitex. The clip then cuts to the street, where a marked police car pulls up at the curb. Back on the lot cameras, emergency lights flash behind the rows of vehicles as police arrive, and the on-screen notes call the intervention successful.
Inventory parked outside overnight is hard to check at a glance. Tampering can stay hidden until a staff member or a customer finds it the next day. At car dealerships, live monitoring puts trained people on the cameras while the lot is closed, so police can hear about a problem while someone is still there.
