Road Barriers Loaded Into a Rental Truck at Night
Late one night, a rental box truck pulled up along the fence of a client’s construction site. The cameras show this construction site theft caught on camera as it happens: a person lifts the site’s orange road barriers off the curb and loads them into the back of the truck, one after another. According to Monitex Security, two men were involved.
Monitex’s operators were watching live and called the police. The truck then pulls away through the intersection, and marked patrol cars arrive soon after.
When officers stopped the men, one of them showed credentials from a construction company, and at first the pickup looked legitimate, Monitex reports. The monitoring team checked with the property manager, who confirmed that no one had permission to take the barriers. Officers then arrested both men.
The last part of the video shows the truck back at the site later that night, with the barriers being unloaded and set back along the curb.
Recorded footage alone would have shown the barriers leaving. Live construction site security monitoring, plus one call to the property manager, is what kept them on the site.
