Two People, a Stoop and a Door in the First-Floor Hallway
At night, cameras at an apartment building recorded two people on the sidewalk by the front steps, one of them pausing at the railing. Soon they are inside, on camera in a first-floor hallway with patterned tile and a row of doors. This apartment break-in attempt caught on camera shows the pair stopping at one door and standing close against it.
According to Monitex Security, the monitoring team spotted the activity live and contacted police before it could turn into something bigger. Officers arrive at the front of the building and head inside. The hallway cameras follow them past the doors and over to the stairs as they check the property.
Back outside, the front camera shows a group of officers gathered on the sidewalk. Monitex reports that the attempted break-in was stopped before it escalated.
Damage to an apartment door can sit unnoticed until a tenant comes home to it. At residential buildings, operators watching the hallways live can call police while people are still at the door.
