A Small Flame on a Jobsite in the Middle of the Night
In the middle of the night, a camera on a client’s construction site picked up a small flame on a slope of earth and debris beside the scaffolding. Monitex Security’s monitoring team spotted it while it was still a single spark, according to the team. In the footage, this construction site fire caught on camera grows fast. Flames spread across the slope, and smoke fills the lit work area until the scaffolding is hard to make out.
Fire trucks then pull up at the site gate with their lights flashing. Firefighters in full gear cross the gravel yard and head into the work area. They run a hose line to the slope and spray down the flames until the fire and smoke die back.
According to Monitex, the fire was contained and the rest of the project was kept safe. The video ends with the trucks pulling away and a person in a safety vest standing at the gate.
Live construction site security monitoring isn’t only about intruders. A camera that only records would have shown this fire to whoever checked it the next day. Here, someone was watching when it started.
